Don Batot Retires After 21 Years at MECO

After 21 years of overseeing MECO water purification equipment sales and establishing countless lasting relationships with customers, our colleague, friend, and water industry icon, Don Batot is retiring.

Don got his start in the water industry over four decades ago working for Millipore. Don spent the next twenty years working with various water purification equipment suppliers before he joined the MECO team and found his home. Don of course made a lasting impact during his time at MECO with his colleagues and with his customers. Don has never met a stranger and many in the industry know him as “Donny Ray”.

Mike Wojcik, MECO’s Director of Sales for North America reflects on his time with Don, “I had only heard of the name Don Batot until a decade and a half ago when I joined MECO. That was when I met Don and learned he was more than just another salesman. Numerous times I have heard the words “Say hi to Donny Ray for me” from customers, colleagues and even the competition. He will be greatly missed by not only the MECO team, but throughout the industry. He is true icon in the water purification industry.“

George Gsell, MECO’s President, on Don’s retirement: “It has been a pleasure to work with Don throughout our careers. He is widely respected throughout the industry and leaves big shoes to fill.”

Don plans to enjoy his retirement with his wife Sherry, his sons, and his grandchildren, while traveling, fishing and playing some golf. The entire MECO organization wishes Don and his family all the best.
