We are seeking a Senior Controller to oversee our general accounting, cost accounting and payroll departments in our Mandeville, LA office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Financial Planning: Conduct detailed budget variance analysis, manage accounts payable and receivable, prepare and analyze financial statements, and ensure compliance with financial laws and standards.
- Annual and Quarterly Tasks: Lead budget preparations, manage tax assessments and planning, coordinate audits, review insurance policies, and develop long-term financial strategies. Conduct quarterly audits of supply orders and inventory.
- Daily Management: Monitor financial entries and transactions, manage banking systems, ensure liquidity for operational needs, resolve financial inquiries, reconcile transactions, and verify invoices for accuracy.
- Financial Oversight: Process payroll, manage inventories, cash flow management, maintain vendor relationships, ensure timely payments, and oversee comprehensive monthly financial closings.
- Process Development: Identify gaps in current financial processes, policies, and programs, and take the lead in developing, implementing, and overseeing new frameworks to enhance financial operations and compliance.
- Operational Compliance: Uphold standards according to GAAP, IFRS and USALI, manage tax filings, and evaluate third-party contracts for financial efficacy.
- Maintain the general ledger and all related accounts with proper documentation and records of all company transactions.
- Responsible for month-end and year-end close processes
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation to reduce the time to close and improve the accuracy of underlying accounting records

Education and Experience
- Undergraduate college degree in accounting or related field
- 10 years experience in accounting department preferably with previous supervisory responsibilities
- Computer skills to include PCs and network programs
