The Regen Technician position is responsible for day-to-day operations with regeneration of service exchange tanks and receiving of incoming materials for the shop in San Diego, CA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs regeneration of service exchange tanks.
- Operates the system that separates, rinse (slow/fast) and adds chemicals (anion/cation).
- Performs quality control testing of the tanks.
- Fills each tank to customer specification.
- Handles and prepares the customer dedicated tanks.
- Completes data readings on the RO during regeneration process in the logbooks.
- Completes minor repairs and maintenance to the regeneration system as needed.
- Prepares and sets up new tanks for usage.
- Conducts shipping and receiving duties (FedEx and UPS packages for the organization) as needed.
- Notifies procurement department of received packages in the warehouse.
- Requests material necessary for the regeneration process, such as chemical or resin, in a timely manner.
- Prioritizes customer requests as directed by supervisor.
- Takes weekly pH readings and complies with any other requirements stipulated by the City’s environmental division.
- Empties and refills carbon and softener tanks.
- Supports specialized regeneration projects upon request from Sales and Service team.
- Wears appropriate PPE when handling chemicals.
- Utilizes basic hand tools and power tools.
- Must be able to safely maneuver a dolly or pallet jack when dealing with Items weighing over 50lbs.
- Maintains warehouse cleanliness and waste management.
- Provides requested amount of regenerated tanks for new system commissioning.
- Achieves an understanding of complete regenerative process and how system RO works.
- Assists in other departments as requested.
- Adheres to company-wide and department policies, procedures and processes.
- Follows adopted procedures in order to report accidents, hazards, incidents, or unsafe conditions to immediate supervisor.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
- To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most standard documents. Effective listening, written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have hands-on experience of MS Office Suites and e-mail.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must have the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality; strong organizational and time management skills and detail oriented; good follow through skills; and the ability to prioritize and work effectively. Ability to work independently and productively. Ability to work under pressure.
Education
High School Diploma/GED and/or Trade/Technical School Certification with 1 to 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination. Requires active driver’s license. Knowledge and ability to utilize basic hand tools and power tools.
