MECO Awarded USP Purified Water System
One of the world’s largest European drug manufacturers has awarded MECO a contract to build a new USP purified water plant. The plant will produce over 200 gallons per minute of purified water in accordance with the requirements of the US Pharmacopeia. The system utilizes multiple stages of pretreatment including ultra filtration, carbon filtration and softening in addition to final treatment using reverse osmosis and electro deionization. The system is hot water sanitizable and completely integrated and automatically controlled. The entire system will be constructed at the company’s plant in Sugar Land, Texas. The Sugar Land plant is an ISO9001 facility certified to ASME code and UL standards.
MECO produces the broadest range of products available in the biopharmaceutical market for the production of Water For Injection and SP Purified Water. The technologies include filtration, reverse osmosis, electro deionization, multiple effect distillation, vapor compression distillation and pure steam generation.
