MECO Provides Pure Water Solution for Disaster Preparedness Program

MECO was contracted by the city of Reedsport, Oregon, to support an emergency preparedness program they were developing for unexpected disaster situations. Many cities along the West Coast have been preplanning emergency relief systems with the Department of Homeland Security due to a recent speculation that an earthquake and associated tsunami could hit the Pacific Coast and cause widespread damage.

The city of Reedsport requested a mobile purified water unit that produces between 5,000 – 10,000 gallons of water per day. MECO provided Reedsport with the MMRO LT, which is a marine reverse osmosis desalination plant that produces up to 8,450 GPD of potable drinking water. The system meets clients’ requirements and produces reliable freshwater in an efficient manner that is sustainable to the environment and community.

With a history of supporting disaster areas, MECO is the world leader in water purification with thousands of installations worldwide. Our 90 year history, 27 patents in water purification technologies, engineering expertise and manufacturing excellence make MECO the world standard in the industry.
