MECO Announces New State-of-the-Art Fabrication Center and Machine Shop

Mechanical Equipment Co. (MECO), a New Orleans-based company, announced today the opening of a new, state-of-the-art machining and fabrication center in Goodbee, La. The facility will initially employ roughly 60 MECO employees with exceptional machining and fabrication skills. The company specializes in various grades of stainless steel, titanium, monel and copper nickel alloys. The new machine shop will operate numerous CNC machining centers from Cincinnati Milacron and the Mazak Corporation. MECO’s fabrication capabilities at the Goodbee facility will be substantial and utilize systems for plasma cutting, rolling and forming both plate and sheet metal. Two dozen TIG and MIG welding stations will also be installed. The new facility will support the company’s Houston assembly plant as well as other businesses requiring fabrication and machining services.
