Business Development Manager – MECO Ireland LTD

Our ideal candidate for the Business Development Manager at MECO Ireland LTD will be a customer-oriented professional with strong communication skills and a proven track record of increased sales to targeted sectors within the European marketplace. This person must be knowledgeable about the European market for capital water making equipment, have prior contacts within the market and be able to generate new sales leads. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for all forecast information on bid proposals, budget quotes and future projects with key tactics identified to position MECO as a preferred supplier.

This individual will work closely with both the U.S. Sales & Marketing team and our engineering staff to insure proffered solutions meet our clients’ needs and MECO corporate strategy.

Minimum requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering or Marketing
  • 5+ years Sales Experience



Service Engineer – MECO Ireland LTD

If you enjoy working on the machines, solving intricate problems and traveling this position may be a great opportunity to integrate your interests into a wonderful career. MECO’s Service Engineers work closely with our customers to resolve issues related to the commissioning, repair, and maintenance of units that have been delivered and/or are in use. Service Engineers liaison with the design/project engineers to develop efficient and cost effective solutions.  

Minimum requirements: 


  • BS in an Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) discipline
  • Formal training in PLCs
  • Strong mechanical skills
  • Effective communication skills

Electrical / Controls Engineers

 Electrical, control, instrumentation and power systems.  Multiple positions available.  May be assigned to Stafford, TX or Mandeville, LA office depending upon candidate location and/or preference.


Key areas of expertise:  Process Controls, Instrumentation, PLC Programming, Motor Controls, NEC, IEC and UL.


Specific responsibilities will vary from project to project and include power and control system design, control system programming, system documentation, control hardware, instrumentation and other related system components. Electrical / controls engineers often participate in all phases of projects from applications to detailed design and through documentation, testing, commissioning and are also significant contributors to product development.


Ideal candidates are committed to quality, attention to detail and the continued pursuit of excellence.  The Electrical/Controls Engineer must be self-directed and able to work both independently and as a team member.


Minimum qualifications:

BSEE with 2+ years of applicable experience.

Strong PLC programming and HMI configuration experience

Experience selecting and configuring instrumentation and motor control components

Ability to travel domestically and internationally.


Desirable experience:


Rockwell Automation PLC/HMI

Water purification systems

BioPharm and/or offshore oil & gas process systems

Customer Service Rep

If your background includes customer service with inside sales experience, have prior experience in an industrial or commercial parts department and are computer savvy; you may have the skills to be a successful Customer Service Representative for Mechanical Equipment Company Inc.  This is a fast-paced position in an environment that creates lots of paper. 

Minimum requirements: 

·         College graduate, preferred

·         Minimum 2 years of experience as a CSR with some inside sales experience of commercial and/or industrial parts


We require an organized, detail-oriented individual who can handle a high degree of stress and has excellent time management skills.

This individual will be responsible and accountable for efficiently buying raw materials, industrial parts and supplies in support of production and non-production needs. Must meet price, schedule and quality objectives. Duties will include: negotiating Purchase Agreements, execution of the Supplier Performance Management Program and managing assigned materials to maintain optimum inventory levels. Additionally, the Buyer will coordinate resolution of complex issues impacting assigned material and serve as liaison between supplier and other departments.


Minimum Requirements: 

  • BS in a business-related course of study
  • 8+ years purchasing in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Must have product knowledge in assigned commodities
  • Prior experience in MRP, principles of planning, supplier management concepts & inventory control practices.
  • Must possess in-depth knowledge of purchasing techniques, such as soliciting quotes, negotiating, supplier selection and evaluation, and disposition of defective or non-compliant materials

All production positions have certain physical requirements that must be met with or without accommodation.  There requirements will be provided at the time of application.

All positions have the minimum requirements provided.  MECO will not consider candidates who do not meet the minimum requirements.  All production positions require the candidate to pass a written mechanical aptitude test.

Candidates for production positions must apply in person (Mon-Fri, 7:30 – 2) at the MECO Mandeville facility located at 68375 Compass Way East.  This plant is in the Alamosa Business Park north of I-12 off LA Hwy 59.  We cannot accept resumes via mail, fax or e-mail.


Mazak Lathe Machinist (2nd Shift)


You will be required to produce machined parts to required tolerances using Engineering drawings, manufacturing operating instructions and sketches.  Will be required to set up and inspect own work with minimal supervision.  All candidates should have a strong work ethic, a dedication to quality and pride in his/her work.


MECO will only consider candidates who meet the following minimum requirements:

HS diploma or GED

Minimum 5+ years practical experience in a machine shop

Must have experience on a Mazak Lathe or equivalent machinery

Must be able to pass written mechanical aptitude test

Must be willing to work overtime as necessary.
