Potable Water Pressure

Maximum Water on Demand - Under Pressure.

Designed to deliver maximum water flow at sufficient pressure between pump cycles, the MECO Potable Water Pressure Sets (PWPS) provide the total potable water requirements of an offshore drilling/production platform or a land-based camp on demand. No larger than conventional water treatment units, the MECO PWPS provide the water required between shutdown pressure and turn-on pressure. Water is delivered under pressure, providing sufficient flow to meet demand.

Designed specifically for marine operations, MECO Potable Water Pressure Sets (PWPS) provide water on demand during booster pump shutdowns (traditionally periods of low- or no-flow aboard oilrigs, platforms and other marine areas). Their superior construction and high-quality, corrosion-resistant materials translates into trouble-free operation and minimal maintenance.

Hydropnematic Tank

Manufactured to ASME specifications, this is the industry's broadest line of bladder style tanks. Each is designed with a heavy-duty replaceable butyl bladder, and is offered in 125 psi (standard), 200 psi and 250 psi sizes.

Dual Centrifugal Pumps

These dual vertically mounted pumps are incorporated into each potable water package to provide 100% standby capacity and handle peak load demands.

Instant Standby Capacity

During routine operation, a single pump supplies the demand and keeps the tank charged. During peak loads, both pumps provide instantaneous standby capacity through process flow. Specifically, utilizing automatic hi/lo pressure control switches for each pump, air and water control, a pressure gauge, a pressure relief valve and all necessary valves/manifold piping.

Q: Why are there dual pumps on the PWPS?

A: PWPS utilize dual pumps for redundancy and peak demand times. In times of peak loads both pumps operate to provide water at sufficient pressure and flow.

Q: What is the pump cycle time?

A: The pump cycle time is determined by the working volume of the tank. This volume is determined by an analysis of the number of points of use, peak demand loads and other water demand requirements for utilities, etc.

Q: Is a bladder always used in the Hydropnuematic Tank?

A: Typical a heavy-duty replaceable bladder is used. However, it is not necessary and the tank can be constructed to operate without one. The advantage however, is that the bladder allows for use of a smaller tank, hence provide weight and space savings.

Q: What is the lifetime of the heavy-duty replaceable bladder in the Hydropnuematic Tank and how long does it take to replace it?

A: The lifetime of the bladder is 7-10 years. Time to replace bladder is 8 hrs.
